ADY at ‘Transport Logistic’ Munich: Key Meetings with Industry Leaders

Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), operating within AZCON Holding, is participating in the international exhibition 'Transport Logistic 2025,' taking place in Munich, Germany from June 2 to 5.

ADY is represented with a special stand at the prestigious mobility exhibition, providing detailed insights into its freight operations along international corridors, railway projects, and infrastructure development in Karabakh and East Zangezur regions, as well as the company’s sustainability efforts, services, implemented digital solutions, and the Port of Baku.

Within the framework of the exhibition, ADY Chairman Rovshan Rustamov held meetings with the top officials from leading transport and logistics companies. 

At the meeting with Yang Bin, President of China Railway Container Transport Corp. (CRCT), the development of transport relations between the two countries was discussed. Discussions focused particularly on the importance of the documents signed between the two countries during the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to China in April, on the joint promotion of the "Belt and Road" initiative and international multimodal transportation.

The sides also discussed the steps to increase the dispatch of container block trains along the Middle Corridor and on a digital platform that will enable the tracking of cargo from China to the Black Sea. It was emphasized that CRCT’s participation in the joint venture “Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd.,” established between the railway authorities of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Kazakhstan, is an important step toward strengthening the potential of the Middle Corridor.

Rovshan Rustamov held his next meeting with Wansu Dong, CEO of another leading Chinese logistics company, Beijing Trans Eurasia International Logistics. During the meeting, the company’s proposals to expand cooperation with ADY on the dispatch of block trains from China to Europe and backwards were discussed. Plans for increasing cargo transportation via the Middle Corridor in the upcoming period were also reviewed.

Within the framework of the exhibition, ADY Chairman also held discussions with Boris Balev, General Director of Bulgaria’s Burgas Port, and the management of HHLA International GmbH, operating in the Port of Hamburg, about the expansion of cooperation between regional ports to ensure the efficient organization of cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor.

During the next meetings with the top representatives from Germany’s Rhenus Group and Austria’s ÖBB Rail Cargo Group, Rovshan Rustamov discussed the potential joint efforts to more efficiently organize cargo transportation along the China–Europe–China transport route through Azerbaijan.

As part of the meetings Rovshan Rustamov highlighted Azerbaijan’s key role as a key hub in the East-West corridor, and emphasized the advantages of leveraging its transport infrastructure, including the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway.
