Azerbaijan Railways joined the UN Global Compact

Since August 2023, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) has joined the United Nations (UN) Global Compact. By joining the Global Compact, ADY has become the first company to represent Azerbaijan in an initiative that includes nearly 500 of the world’s most prestigious companies in the transportation sector.

ADY is making significant efforts to align its operations with the global sustainability goals and is working towards transforming Azerbaijan into a key transport hub in the region, with a focus on modernizing railway infrastructure and ensuring safe and efficient mobility.

By joining this initiative, ADY plans to further enhance its program in the areas of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, as well as to the country's economy.

Launched in 2000 by the UN, the Global Compact encourages its members to align their strategies and activities with internationally recognized principles regarding human rights, labor rights, environmental protection, and anti-corruption, and to contribute to the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development." The Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability network, uniting over 20,000 businesses and non-business partners across more than 160 countries.
