Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line the construction of which started on 27 November 2007 was solemnly inaugurated on 30 October 2017. Over 500 kilometres of almost 850-kilometre long railroad line passes through the territory of Azerbaijan. The operation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line which is the shortest and most reliable railroad connecting Europe with Asia led to the increased logistical capacity of Azerbaijan in the “East-West” transport corridor.
Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line which has become an important part of the Eurasian transport map is serving regional peace and stability where it is located.
