Laki-Gabala

The construction of the single-track Laki-Gabala railway line began in 2018. The length of the railway is 42.3 kilometers for the main line and 44.5 kilometers with branches. As part of the project, 122 artificial engineering structures were built, including the Agdash railway station, the Gabala railway terminal, the Gabala traction substation, and renovation works on the Hadjialy substation.

The total area of the Gabala Railway Station is 2,300 square meters and includes a VIP lounge, waiting area, two passenger platforms, a parking lot with 200 spaces, a ticket hall, a medical point, a staff rest room, a café, and a room for mothers and children.

On May 15, 2021, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva inaugurated the Gabala railway terminal and the Laki-Gabala single-track railway.

Since March 18, 2023, the Azerbaijan Railways (AR) has started passenger transportation on the Baku-Gabala-Baku route. This route is served by a four-car, two-story high-speed passenger train manufactured by the Swiss company Stadler Rail Group.
